Longer Term Trading, usually means holding a position for a month to a six months or a year. The advantage of longer term trading is, you can usually enter your trade and not have to sit there watching your trading screen all day. You can also follow longer term trends in the market and not react to what a lot of traders call market noise. Most trading software programs, give you the ability to place the trade and then enter targets for getting out of the trade. These targets are usually set for the amount of profit you are looking for in the trade or your stop loss.
